Katherine Duncan-Jones' analysis of the latest contender for a portrait of Shakespeare.  [Ms. Duncan-Jones' scholastic analysis leads to the conclusion that this is not Shakespeare but a younger man - Thomas Overbury, writer - a conclusion with which I agree.]  Sir Henry Neville and William Herbert (patron of the First Folio of the Shakespeare plays), visited Sir Thomas Overbury together in the Tower of London.  They were attempting to advise him to apologise to King James I and thus stand a chance of being freed from gaol.  Poor Overbury, however, did not take their advice.  After a heart-rending letter to his erstwhile friend and patron, Lord Rochester, Overbury was poisoned and died in great pain in his prison cell.http://entertainment.timesonline.co.uk/tol/arts_and_entertainment/the_tls/article5931174.ece
